Our vision, aims and outcomes
Our vision:
To encourage children to notice and understand the power of their own state of flow.
To recognise this safe place where they can be themselves and nurture confidence and self belief.
Our aims:
To understand where thoughts and feelings come from and how to prevent them overpowering or limiting us.
To promote an understanding of the nature of wellbeing and resilience and develop strategies for young people to tap into inner resources.
To help young people identify whether they are responding to scenarios from a place of security or insecurity.
To develop strategies to help them pause, take stock and determine which direction go next.
To equip children to question whether they want to stay where they are or visualise a better place/destination and make good choices to get there.
To understand primal mechanisms like fight/flight/freeze and how awareness of them helps us make more informed choices
To use simple tools like mindfulness to relax and self-regulate.
To use movement to shift away from busy thoughts and to energise us, de-stress our minds and bodies and to encourage more grounded states.
To explore options for problem solving and encourage confidence to seek help from others when needed.
